Cambridgeshire & Peterborough County Sports Partnership, LIVING SPORT, is currently engaging with a national programme called Sport Unlimited. As a benefit of promoting your club through Cambridgeshire.net we would like to highlight this funding opportunity. We are keen to see more applications from youth groups, sports clubs, uniform groups and lions clubs as we really feel that this could really support you in continuing to deliver high quality positive sporting activities to the young people of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and provide vitally needed funds for your organisation/club.
The Sport Unlimited programme is aimed at providing opportunities for young people aged 5- 19 in a wide range of sporting activities. A total of around £120,000 of funding is available to support activities until April 2011, which can cover a number of different aspects associated with each individual activity. This may include coaching fee, equipment cot, venue hire or transport.
A brief guide to the funding criteria can be found below:
· Activity should be targeted at Young People aged between 5-19
· Activities must be new with all sessions at least one hour in length over an 8 week period.
· The average grant size is around £20 per head i.e. if you retain 20 people to your session you could gain approx £400 funding. However if your project is more expensive please contact to discuss.
· All activity must show how it is to become sustainable once funding has finished
· We are keen to encourage applications that offer increased activity to athletes with a disability
· Partnership working is strongly recommended (i.e. Club and School, Youth Group and National Governing Body etc)
· All activity must be outside curriculum hours
The application process for this grant is very simple with support from LIVING SPORT available. On top of the funding available LIVING SPORT will provide all marketing material to give you the best opportunity to make the project a success. We would really like to hear from you if you feel you have a project that could fit with this programme. Many clubs need to attract more junior members and this is an ideal way of reducing the cost of running an introductory session.
