About this event

This year’s ‘Big Pink Read’, in celebration of LGBT History Month, takes place on Saturday 11 February from 2pm–5pm on the third floor of Central Library, Cambridge.

At 2pm we have a panel discussion entitled ‘Coincidence or controversy? LGBT writers sidelined from this year’s Booker Prize’ featuring the author and comedienne VG Lee, Steve Joy of the University of Cambridge and Dr Pauline Palmer, author of ‘The Queer Uncanny’. This will be followed by a chance to chat to the guests over a cup of tea and to browse the library’s collection of LGBT books.

Then at 4pm we will be showing a series of clips relevant to LGBT History Month that have been supplied to us by the British Film Institute.
