Registered provider of social and nursing care for the frail elderly (Askham House) and for the young physically disabled (Askham Place).  24 hour qualified staff on duty.

Both homes are registered to provide Day Care Services to members of the community - service users can be collected and taken back home as Askham has its own mini bus.

Daily in-house activities keep service users engaged in personal interests and also in group activities.  Outside activities/outings are organised regularly.  

Askham Family Circle and Friends of Askham Place are in place to help with fund raising activities to enhance the quality of life of all service users at Askham. 

Cultural provision: Yes, if there was a call to have anything faith-related put in place to accommodate a service user's need, their reasonable needs would be catered for

Special diets: Yes, we cater for all dietary requirements including peg feeding.

Other specialist provision: Askham Place is a specialist care unit purpose built to accommodate and care for physically disabled service users. The building is fitted out with state of art equipment to include overhead tracking in each bedroom together with mobile hoists to make it easy for service users to be manouvred around the home and their individual bedrooms with dignity and where possible, with independence. All bedrooms are over 15 sq m in size with ensuites. There is a specialist hydortherapy bath for use by service users in addition to all rooms being ensuite. An in-house physiotherapist services the needs of the service users with specialist equipment and exercise tools. Staff are all trained to meet the needs of the service users with special conditions eg MS, Huntingtons, etc. Askham Place is a preferred provider for MS provision.
