About this organisation

The Lindy Hop is a dance that evolved in Harlem, New York City in the 1920s and 1930s and originally evolved with the jazz music of that time.

Cambridge Lindy Hoppers is a non-profit society aimed at promoting Lindy Hop and other forms of swing dancing in Cambridge. We perform, teach, dance socially (and eat cake) at every opportunity. Our membership is drawn from all age groups and walks of life, and we take part in a lot of local events, such as Strawberry Fair and the Buskers’ Festival. We’re also active in the wider swing community, and it’s a safe bet that you’ll find a Cambridge dancer at most UK events, and quite a lot of European ones!

Classes and social dances are held twice a week in Cambridge as well as one off workshops and events.
