About this organisation

Centre 33 - Cambridge based charity provides free and accessible information, counselling, services and support to any young person aged 8-25 in Cambridgeshire to enable them to overcome the effects of poor health, isolation, disadvantage and inequality so as to achieve their potential.

Our services include:
1) Information, Outreach and Support Service:
i) The Information (First Contact) Service - Free and confidential information and sexual health services to young people from Cambridge City, South and East Cambridgeshire.
ii) The Housing and Living Skills service- Information and support for young people aged 15 - 25, who may be dealing with the threat of homelessness, sleeping rough, drugs, money problems or lack of support.

2) Mental Health and Counselling Service - Free short term confidential counselling for 13-25 year olds living in Cambridge City, South and East Cambridgeshire. This service enables young people who are experiencing mental health or distress to access a safe place to share their feelings and explore ways of coping with their distress.

3) Young Carer Service- At Centre 33, we support young carers aged 8 to 18 years whose life is affected by a family member who has a physical or learning disability, mental health problems, long term illness, drug or alcohol misuse or AIDS/HIV by delivering respite groups, 1-to-1 support, activities, trips and holidays and regular newsletters.

Each year we provide:
• Drop-in and outreach support - Information and support to 4000 young people.
• Counselling for 300 young people.
• Peer education and participation projects for 50 young people.
• One to one support and respite groups for 200 young carers.
• Housing support for young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness for 180 young people.

Cultural provision: We work closely with faith groups and can work alongside a translator if required.

Special diets: We have wheelchair access to our building. Staff can also meet individuals in their community if more appropriate and easier for the individual.
