About this organisation
Day nursery for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Mon-Fri 7.30am-6.30pm.
kidsunlimited Ely is located on the Cambridgeshire Business Park, making it an excellent location for parents working in the area or commuting, with Ely train station just 5 minutes away. With our extended opening hours the nursery is ideal for parents returning from London in the early evening. Our Manager is Angela Dewey who has 35 years of experience as a nursery nurse and manager, 18 of those have been with kidsunlimited.
kidsunlimited Ely is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm,
52 weeks of the year, excluding Bank Holidays. Our fees are fully inclusive, which means we provide all food, drinks, nappies and formula milks for the babies and children in our care. We have an on-site cook and our menus are created by a nutritionist to provide a healthy and balanced diet.
Special diets: Our menu is carefully planned to meet nutritional guidelines and to provide a healthy and balanced diet for 0 – 5 year olds. It is prepared fresh each day by our own cooks with high quality ingredients.
Meal times at kidsunlimited are about more than simply what our children eat. It is about the understanding of where food comes from and how we grow it. Our ku:cookery and ku:gardening programmes help to educate children on the benefits of healthy eating and support the development of good habits that will accompany them when they go to school.
Developing the social aspect of meal times is also important to establish good eating habits which is why our children and staff sit down together to have a ‘family-style’ meal and promote good table manners.
Children have up to three meals during their nursery day, depending upon the times they arrive and leave. Drinks and healthy snacks are also served and the older children are encouraged to help themselves from low level refreshment tables.
Other specialist provision: All children are warmly welcomed and valued equally, and all have individual needs that we work hard to ensure are fully met.
Some children have very specific needs that relate to their health and/or general development. These needs may include particular routines the child must follow to ensure their continuing health and well-being, for example, they may have sight, speech or hearing difficulties or mobility problems, to name a few. In each of our nurseries we have staff who have been trained to enable them to support these children.
If you have a child who has additional needs our aim is to work closely with you and any other health professionals who may be involved. We will support you in seeking specialist equipment if this is required and will seek funding from local authority for additional staff support should this be appropriate. Our practice of regular observation and assessment of children's play, learning and development will keep you fully informed and provide you with examples that may be shared with all those involved with your child’s care. This helps to ensure our daily practice is kept up-to-date and is developed to meet your child’s changing needs.
If you would like more detailed information please speak to the nursery manager who will be happy to talk with you about your child’s specific needs and to plan with you, how these may be met.
